BSA/AML Officer / AML Compliance Manager

AML Compliance Manager (BSA/AML Officer)

Run a bank's AML program as its BSA/AML officer: tune monitoring to risk when the queue outgrows the team, make the filing decision the business line objects to, answer an independent test and an examiner's finding, and tell the board what it needs to know.

What you'll build

Real portfolio pieces built during the course, not a certificate for its own sake. Each one is work you can show.

  • Threshold decision memoThe wire monitoring rules re-tuned to risk rather than to the team's capacity: each change with what the rule is meant to catch, the outcome evidence behind it and who approved it, the backlog plan in risk order, and the resourcing gap put in writing as a decision for those who hold the budget.
  • SAR committee decision recordA filing decision taken against business-line pressure, recorded so an examiner can see independence held: the facts relied on, the deadline, the objection and the answer, what the business line was and was not told, how the credit decision was kept separate, and how the board is notified.
  • Findings and MRA response planThe independent test's four findings and the examiner's Matter Requiring Attention answered on their merits: accepted or contested with evidence, each with a root cause, an action, an owner and a date, and the actions separated into fixing the design and fixing how it runs.
  • Board risk committee report outlineThe quarterly BSA/AML report to the risk committee built around the decisions only the board can make, with the evidence for each, the program's open findings, a filing that tested independence, and a proposed rule labelled as a watch item rather than a change.
