What you'll build

Real portfolio pieces built during the course, not a certificate for its own sake. Each one is work you can show.

  • Cost and architecture writeupA two page investigation of a bill that moved: the comparison method, the drivers with start dates and shares, each classified as growth, a change or waste, the architecture reason behind the cost shape, and recommendations split into do now, needs a decision, and watching.
  • Support ticket resolution logTen resolved cloud support tickets in one table, each with the reporter's own words, impact and scope, the priority reasoning, the evidence gathered, what you ruled out and how, the cause, the action, the verification and what prevents a repeat.
  • Basic deployment runbookA runbook somebody else can follow without asking you a question: prerequisites, success criteria written before the work starts, numbered steps with expected results, a rollback written before the deployment steps, and what to monitor afterwards.
  • Shared responsibility mappingOne page filled in for a specific environment, naming the actual services and stating for each item whether the provider, the customer or the managed service is responsible, with checkable evidence and a last checked date.
  • Performance investigation and options writeupThe word slow decomposed before anything is bought: who is affected and where they are, which pages and at what times, time to first byte against total load time, page weight, and the machine and database figures, with every measurement stating what it rules out and the options ordered by improvement for effort.

The durable model underneath every provider: what the cloud is, who is responsible for what, the five service categories, how regions and availability work, how pricing is actually shaped, how to read a bill, and the two categories the evidence actually lives in. Concepts first, then how each provider spells them.
