Practical AI Tools for the Workplace

Use AI tools on real work without embarrassing yourself: structure a prompt, verify what comes back, keep confidential data out, and know what not to automate. You leave with a prompt library, one automation specified end to end and built where you can build it, and an honest time-savings writeup.

What you'll build

Real portfolio pieces built during the course, not a certificate for its own sake. Each one is work you can show.

  • Your prompt libraryTen to fifteen reusable prompts for tasks you actually repeat, each with what to paste in, what to check before it leaves you, and the failure you have already watched it make.
  • One automation, scored and specifiedA single automation, specified end to end and built where you can build one: trigger, steps, the data that flows, where the human review sits, how it fails silently, and how somebody switches it off.
  • Before and after time-savings writeupA measured one-page account of what a task cost before, what it costs now, what got worse, and how confident you are in the number.
  • AI-use note for a teamA one-page note a small team could actually adopt: approved tools, what may and may not go in, which decisions always stay with a person, and who owns the note.
  • Statement by statement source checkAn assistant-written customer FAQ taken apart claim by claim: each statement given one of three verdicts against the plan terms and the service agreement, the clause reference beside every change, the claims no source mentions pulled out rather than rewritten, and the person who has to settle each one.

What you'll learn

Fundamentals, kept short
The role decoded: three posts, three functions
A day in the role
The recurring calendar
Live simulation: one week at Meridian Home Services
Artifacts: the four things you leave with
Handoff: proving it, and where it leads
