Free CompTIA CySA+ Practice Test (CS0-004)

CySA+ is the analyst exam that sits between Security+ and the specialist certifications. These questions run across all four domains, and most of them turn on what you do next with the evidence in front of you rather than on recalling a definition.

10 questions, answers and explanations included. No account needed.

CompTIA CySA+ questions people ask

Up to 85 questions in 165 minutes. The exact number varies between test forms, which is why the objectives say "up to" rather than giving a fixed count.

750 out of 900. The scale is not a percentage and the questions are not all worth the same, so you cannot work backwards to "I need to get X questions right".

CompTIA recommends it rather than requiring it, and the recommendation is worth taking seriously: CySA+ assumes you already know what the controls are and asks whether you can tell a real intrusion from a noisy rule. You can book CySA+ without holding anything first.

Partly. It mixes multiple choice with performance-based questions that put you in front of log output, scan results or a configuration and ask you to work from what is actually there. Reading evidence quickly matters more than memorising tool syntax.

Security operations centre analyst, threat intelligence analyst, vulnerability management and incident response roles. It is the certification most often named in adverts for a first or second analyst seat, above Security+ and below the specialist offensive and management certifications.

Security+ asks what a control is for. CySA+ asks what you do with the output: which of these findings matters, what this log line means in context, who needs to be told and in what order. The shift is from knowing the vocabulary to using it under time pressure.

No, and be wary of any site that claims otherwise. Every question here is written from scratch against the published exam objectives. Sitting an exam having memorised leaked live questions breaks the non-disclosure agreement you accept at the test centre and can get your certification revoked.

Yes. Without an account you get 20 questions a day, and the count resets every day. A free account removes the daily cap and unlocks the full CompTIA CySA+ question bank, flashcards, study notes, performance-based questions, a timed exam simulator and a readiness score. There is no paid tier and no card required.
