Question 1 of 100 correct
foundationalEngagement Management

Before any technical work begins, both parties sign a document establishing the general terms of the business relationship, liability, confidentiality, and payment terms that will govern this and future engagements. CompTIA PenTest+ questions people ask

Up to 90 questions in 165 minutes. The exact number varies between test forms, which is why the objectives say "up to" rather than giving a fixed count.

750 out of 900. The scale is not a percentage and the questions are not all worth the same, so you cannot work backwards to "I need to get X questions right".

Neither is required to book the exam. CompTIA suggests Network+ and Security+ plus some hands-on security experience, and the networking half of that suggestion carries real weight - a good deal of PenTest+ assumes you can read a subnet, a port list and a service banner without stopping to think.

Tools appear constantly, but the questions are usually about choosing and interpreting rather than recalling flags. Expect to be shown output and asked what it means, what to do next, or whether the finding is real. The engagement management domain is entirely non-technical and is the one people most often underprepare for.

They test different things. OSCP is a long practical exam where you either compromise the machines or you do not. PenTest+ is a written exam covering the full engagement lifecycle including scoping, reporting and the legal and ethical constraints. Plenty of people hold both, and PenTest+ is the one that maps to the paperwork side of the job.

Junior penetration tester, security consultant, vulnerability analyst and red team support roles. It also shows up in defensive adverts, where an employer wants an analyst who understands how the attacks they are watching for actually work.

No, and be wary of any site that claims otherwise. Every question here is written from scratch against the published exam objectives. Sitting an exam having memorised leaked live questions breaks the non-disclosure agreement you accept at the test centre and can get your certification revoked.
